We keep hearing the GOP needs to move to the middle...to nominate "a moderate" to win the election. Well, for the heck of it....here's how some moments from history would have looked or sounded if moderates had been in control:
MCAURTHUR TO THE PHILLIPINES: "I shall, at some point, think about returning."
REAGAN IN BERLIN: "Mr. Gorbachev, please inflict some cosmetic non structural damage to that wall."
BOSTON CELTICS: "Havlicek borrowed the ball....Havlicek borrowed the ball!!"
DETECTIVE HARRY CALLAHAN: "Maybe you could consider perhaps enhancing my day a tad."
APOLLO 13 to FLIGHT CONTROL: "Houston, we might have a bit of a situation."
FLIGHT CMDR TO MISSION CONTROL: "Failure, of course, is one option."
FDR: "December 7th, 1941...a day that will live in whatever a focus group decides it should live as."
CLINTON: "I might have had sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." (ok, scratch that one).
CHURCHILL: "This might be one of Englands more average hours."
JIMMY V: "maybe at some point, you can just give up."
JFK: "go ahead and ask what your country can do for you."
ADMIRAL FARRAGUT: "Golly gee the torpedoes, half speed ahead."
ML KING: "I had a little daydream, that one day character wouldn't matter."
